We’ll discuss Social Disadvantage Narratives for business owners focused on understanding current regulations for demonstrating social disadvantage through personal narratives and gaining tips on navigating any potential process changes.  
  
Background: In 2023, the SBA began requiring the development of a Social Disadvantage Narrative for all firms to demonstrate owners’ social disadvantage for eligibility to participate in the SBA 8(a) program benefits. In 2024, the USDOT updated the language on this topic as well in its revised DBE/ACDBE regulation CFR 26.67(d).
